Jerry Cantrell interview with LA Lloyd

Jerry Cantrell is on his solo tour for the Spring of 2022.  Back in January of this year, he co-hosted the LA Lloyd Rock 30 to talk about the solo tour and his latest album "Brighten." Jerry released the album October 29, 2021 and features Duff McKagan on bass, Gil Sharone on drums, Greg Puciato on background vocals, Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums, Tyler Bates on strings, percussion and guitar, Vincent Jones on piano, keyboards and strings, Jordan Lewis on piano, and Michael Rozon on pedal steel.  A big highlight in this interview is Jerry discussing his love of fishing and bringing home the big catch for a dinner with Sammy Hagar.

P.O.D.with LA Lloyd on Shiprocked Cruise 2022

Since the LA Lloyd Rock 30 began July 4, 2000, P.O.D. was one of the first bands to help launch the show.  Move forward to 2022 when P.O.D. vocalist Sonny Sandoval and guitarist Marcos Curiel are always happy to sit down and chat with LA Lloyd.  But for their 6th appearance, this one was very unique as it was recorded in the middle of the sea on the Shiprocked cruise.  Many things will be covered in the interview including the many milestones reached by P.O.D. including the 20th anniversary of their platinum album Satellite.  Also, the band talks about revisiting with legendary producer Howard Benson.  As Sonny and Marcos reveal, Howard takes them in the studio to show them all of the many plaques he's received from other gold and platinum artists.  But the one he's most proud of in the middle of the bunch is his first gold record he received as producer of P.O.D.'s album The Fundamental Elements of Southtown.

Dead Sara interview on LA Lloyd Rock 30

LA Lloyd delivers another fun interview from the Shiprocked Cruise.  Emily Armstrong, Dead Sara vocalist, returns with an engaging conversation from an artist's standpoint as a performer on essentially what could be described as a "festival on the sea." The first meeting LA Lloyd had with the band was at SXSW in 2012 as they were promoting their new single "Weatherman."  It was very cool to see them perform it live on Shiprocked 10 years later.  A bit of trivia about how the band's name; Dead Sara is a nod to the Fleetwood Mac song "Sara" and its lyric "...said Sara."  The band misheard the lyric as "dead Sara".  And the rest they say is history. 

Nita Strauss interview on LA Lloyd Rock 30

Nita Strauss made a name for herself as lead guitarist for the Alice Cooper Band.  But she has stepped out on her own with a solo song featuring David Draiman from Disturbed called Dead Inside.  THIS IS A HUGE MILESTONE as she made headlines for Billboard magazine stating, "Nita Strauss Is First Solo Woman to Top Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart in Over 30 Years."  How does Nita feel about this?  You'll hear it straight from her as she sits down on the Shiprocked Cruise and talks with LA Lloyd.

Falling In Reverse Ronnie Radke interview on LA Lloyd Rock 30

Falling In Reverse have released what LA Lloyd feels is their best single ever called Zombiefied.  And who better to tell you the story of that song than their vocalist Ronnie Radke.  Zombiefied has been going up the Rock 30 chart very fast and will be featured on Falling In Reverse's new EP Neon Zombie. Other topics discussed with Ronnie include his love of Freddie Mercury, what he does with all the ideas he's always writing down to eventually formulate them into songs, his love/hate relationship with TikTok, and the making of the video Zombiefied.

Josh Katz from Badflower and LA Lloyd have one major thing in common; panic attacks.  There's several things that could cause it in Josh's world like playing their new song "F The World" in front of an audience.  That may not sound so scary, but due to COVID, all the members couldn't get together for a full rehearsal before doing it live.  When Josh is with LA Lloyd, it's definitely a conversation and not an interview.  Even with a few years difference between the two, they always find many of the same things in life they relate to.  The biggest of course is the music.  Also, enjoy the great story about Josh's new life on the farm near Nashville.

Otherwise interview with LA Lloyd at Wise Guys (Thanksgiving special)

LA Lloyd left the studio and went on location for the Rock 30 Thanksgiving weekend special to Wise Guys in Round Rock, TX to hang with some wise guys known as Otherwise.  It's the time of year where you hang with your friends and talk about the things you are passionate about.  Fortunately for you who listen, we talk about food, drink and Rock and Roll. Tom Morello interview with LA Lloyd Rock 30

How does one convince Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder to contribute their vocals on one of the greatest Rock songs ever written?  Tom Morello will answer that question when he co-hosts the LA Lloyd Rock 30.  Tom will explain how he managed to pull off AC/DC's Highway To Hell with a ripping lead guitar solo with two of the most iconic vocalists.  In addition, have you checked out Tom Morello's Master Class?  He will give you some insight on his approach to teaching you how to creatively come up with your own sound on guitar...spoiler alert, it doesn't involve a lot of gear...only a desire to use your creativity.  Tom Morello, visionary, revolutionist, and just an all-around great guy.  It is an honor to have him co-host the LA Lloyd Rock 30. 

Slash interview with LA Lloyd Rock 30

LA Lloyd received some exciting news a few weeks ago that he was sworn to secrecy.  Finally on October 22, the secret was released from the culprit who goes by Slash. A new single from Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators is now out called The River is Rising.  In addition, there is an album called 4 that will be released on Gibson Records February 11, 2022.  And yes, there will be a tour to go along with the album release.  But don't take LA Lloyd's word for it.  Hear the truth from the man SLASH!

Greta Van Fleet co-hosts LA Lloyd Rock 30
